Why would I even respond to someone with "fanboy" in their name?? LOL
So comics should only cost $0.12 each like they did in the 1960's...cause no price hike is EVER justifiable?
The price on everything increases eventually. Just like the price of games went up $10 each this gen.
The average (Not all, but the average) MSRP of a game in the mid to late 80's was $50 and this gen, it went up. It was expected to happen eventually. man...
I'm not a fan of the series, but whats to question here?
It sold 1.51 million copies on the 360. Some multiplat games don't sell that many total. LOL
Square reached out to a bigger installed base by making it multiplatform and obviously it worked out. Good for them.
I was surprised to see it sell a total of 5.75 Million at all. the series has lost a lot of steam over the years.
There's no question at all, Square made the right choice.
Pure ignorance. the industry over the last 2 generations has reached out to new demographics and broadened the types of games we see. it's not all core and kids any more. the casual gamer base has increased, but that's not a bad thing. it feeds more money into the industry and that's good for everyone.
the DEVELOPERS and PUBLISHERS are to blame. they make games for casual gamers with wreckless abandon so they can increase profits. THEY hold the gamers hand and wal...
I can see the need for it to stay at $50. But when it's all said and done, I'm going to pay the $60 because I just love the service.
I have the PS3 and Have tried PSN. I just don't like it nearly as much. so rather than Pay $50 each for PSN and XBL. I'm just gonna use XBL only and consider myself saving $40. That way I wont feel so bad about it. LOL
I will say that the writer here had a good point. The price has been $50 for the last 8 years and MS ha...
Good list, but where the heck is Last Guardian??
I do agree. there are some stores that really take advantage. but then there are stores (normally independent) that offer fair deals too.
either way. These developers/publishers should not be punishing the consumer for trying to buy games on a budget.
they also seem to forget that a lot of used game trades go toward new game sales.
hopefully this one sold less than it's predecessors. the last thing we need is EA thinking their online pass got them more sales. if that's the case, it'll open the floodgates to all games having a feature like it.
THQ, Ubisoft, EA, Sony and anyone else who calls the used game market "cheating" are dead wrong. They seem to forget that the used game industry stimulates the new game market. they're battling it in the wrong manner.
the only people "cheated" by all this online pass/registration code crap is the consumer.
On the Wii? No way man. I'm going original:) I never get rid of anything.
Now that I've thought about it...I may play some MK2 when I get home tonight! :)
I think as a rule, for those who don't want to be disappointed in any game (including one talked up by Peter Molyneux)... don't fall victim to the hype. LOL
If you expect a game to be the greatest thing ever and a life changing experience...well...you're just setting yourself up for failure. that's a lot to live up to.
Sadly, every developer working on a game now will let you believe that's exactly what their game is! LOL
you said it brother!
It's funny that everyone hates on fable because they heard Molyneux say it would have this and that and then it didn't.
Sure, fable 1 wasn't the game he originally said it would be...but it was a GREAT game nonetheless.
Fable 2 also fell short of the promises, but it was a lot of fun and overall an enjoyable experience. (my only real problem being that it held your hand throughout)
Fable 3 looks to also be a fun and interesting game.
This...
I have very high hopes for this game. Word is that they're trying to get back to the roots of it all. Personally, my favorites are still 1-3 and I was terribly disappointed in the Vs. DC thing.
But I'm an optimist! LOL
I guess the wording could be better, But I get the message.
A lot of publishers/developers are claiming that the used market is basically a form of theft, this is why were seeing EA, Ubisoft, Sony, THQ, ETC. talking about and implementing registration codes for game's online features.
I think the basic idea of the article is very pertinent and needs to be addressed by gamers everywhere.
They have sold more i-pods, but i-pods are not game consoles and the people who buy them (myself included) do not buy them for gaming.
thats like someone who manufactures hammers saying
"we've sold more nut crackers than anyone else!" LOL
Give me My DS any day.
it's a little heavy on kinect titles.
That's an analogy I never considered. I agree 100%
Dude, I'm a retailer.
I know the MSRP as soon as I look on my distributors web site. The MSRP is set by the manufacturer. It is what it is. Period.
For the record, The sites are not marked up.
Gamestop sells a used MS brand 360 wireless controller for $39.99
They DO NOT sell a new Controller/charge and play bundle for $40.
You're wrong.
I also just checked on my distributors price list.
I am 100% correct. I don't come on here to lie or spread misinformation and I most certainly wouldn't say it was so if I weren't certain.
Here,
Gamestop (the worlds largest video game retailer.)

That was a truly ignorant statement. How is that even logical? 1.5 million copies sold is a successful game launch on any game console for any game.
it sold what it sold on the PS3. that number would have been pretty much the same had it been exclusive (operating under the assumption that of the people who own both consoles were more likely to play it on the PS3)
How would a bundle double sales? LOL
Lastly, how is selling an extra 1.5 million copies of this...
